Teaching of the Holy Quran (Boys & Girls)

Teaching of the Holy Quran (Boys & Girls)

First Stage: Qaida Department

The Qaida Department of Madrasa Arif-ul-Uloom is renowned for its unique educational methodology. In approximately six months, capable students are taught the Qaida with proper rules, and practical implementation is emphasized. This enables students to read the Holy Quran fluently with Tajweed. Students coming from other madrasas are tested, and if their recitation is weak, they are admitted into the Qaida Department, which proves extremely beneficial in improving recitation and Tajweed.

Second Stage: Nazirah Department

For students who intend to memorize the Quran, it is essential to first learn Nazirah (recitation of the Quran by looking), otherwise memorization becomes difficult. Therefore, students who complete Qaida are taught Nazirah up to three Juz’ with proper Tajweed and recitation practice. Alhamdulillah, after completing three Juz’, students acquire the ability to recite the entire Quran with Tajweed. After passing the test, they are transferred to the Hifz Department.

Third Stage: Hifz Department

Memorizing the Holy Quran is a task that requires immense effort and attention. The teacher, student, guardian, and the institution all play vital roles in this process. Weakness in any of these areas makes it difficult to achieve desired results, and even slight negligence can cause significant harm.

To achieve optimal results, the institution has developed a robust educational and administrative program through which each student is closely monitored. Daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports are prepared. Constant attention is given to the pace and volume of lessons, and steps are regularly taken to ensure retention. In case of weakness in memorization, causes are identified and addressed through mutual consultation and strategic planning.

Fourth Stage: Revision (Gardan) Department

After memorizing the Quran, revision is essential to strengthen retention. This process is called Gardan. In view of its importance, a dedicated department has been established where students revise the Quran for a period of eight months to one year. During this period, special attention is also given to Tajweed and pronunciation. Students in this department participate in annual exams under the Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan. They also participate in the institute’s annual competition Kaamil-ul-Hifz Ma‘a Tajweed and in national-level competitions. Special preparations are made for these contests, and Alhamdulillah, the students of the institute have earned several honors in them.
